Eileen Hren

Eileen Hren specializes in advising and defending clients in connection with criminal and civil litigation and investigations. Ms. Hren also counsels clients in connection with travel to the United States, navigating non-immigrant visa applications, and providing legal advice in connection with entry into the United States.

Ms. Hren is a vigilant advocate who prioritizes risk management. Her extensive experience includes advising companies on high-stakes civil and criminal litigation, internal and government investigations, and complex compliance matters, including anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, immigration, terrorism financing, and trade sanctions. Ms. Hren’s proactive approach involves designing safeguards to mitigate her clients’ unique legal risks. She is an expert in strategically employing Artificial Intelligence to reduce clients’ costs and is highly sensitive to her clients’ business concerns. As a result, she delivers premium legal services at an exceptional value.

As a litigator and trial attorney, Ms. Hren has represented clients in connection with numerous high-stakes criminal and civil matters in federal and state courts. Prior to founding Hren Legal , Ms. Hren was a counsel at Weil, Gotshal & Manges and Brown Rudnick, where she managed large teams of high-performing attorneys, paralegals, forensic accountants, and experts in connection with federal grand jury investigations, special counsel investigations, criminal prosecutions, and civil litigation. Ms. Hren’s legal expertise encompasses the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”), the False Claims Act (“FCA”), the Anti-Terrorism Act (“ATA”), the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (“JASTA”), the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (“RICO”), the Foreign Agents Registration Act (“FARA”), the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (“SOX”), the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (“Exchange Act”), and asset forfeiture. She is a skilled cross-cultural communicator and has collaborated with clients globally, including leading on-site investigations in Argentina, France, Jordan, Lebanon, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, and Vietnam. In crisis situations, Ms. Hren is adept at swiftly triaging and managing resources to safeguard her clients’ interests. She is an experienced negotiator and has helped clients secure declinations, deferred prosecution agreements, and cooperation agreements in connection with numerous federal criminal investigations.

Ms. Hren is a life-long advocate for civil and constitutional rights. Through her pro bono practice, Ms. Hren has litigated alongside attorneys from the Center for Constitutional Rights, the Center for Reproductive Rights, the Innocence Project, and the Southern Poverty Law Center in defense of constitutional rights. She has also partnered with the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (“RAICES”) and the International Refugee Assistance Project (“IRAP”) on asylum cases, and with the National Veterans Legal Services Program (“NVLSP”) to help disabled veterans obtain compensation for combat-related injuries. Prior to her legal career, Ms. Hren worked in the field of international development and human rights and spent three years living and working in Egypt, Jordan, Israel, and Palestine. After returning from the Middle East, Ms. Hren attended the George Washington University School of Law at night, while working full-time, and graduated with honors.

Ms. Hren is barred in New York and Washington, DC and has represented clients pro hac vice in federal and state courts throughout the United States. She is an active member of the Washington, DC Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and the International Bar Association.
